Recommendations for prosthesis therapy

MINIMALLY INVASIVE HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY (MIS).

With a much smaller skin incision, this method is much more soft tissue friendly than the traditional procedure. The muscle attachments are better protected by means of specially made instruments, and thus fewer attachments are ablated. As a result, patients have less pain postoperatively, less blood loss and faster rehabilitation.

Unfortunately, this method is not possible for everyone, since, for example, venous thrombosis, cardiovascular problems, previous operations on the hip and overweight must be clarified exactly beforehand.

We decide with you what is the best method for you!

If surgery is required, the appropriate prosthesis is selected in advance and the appropriate method is determined.

Drains are removed on the first postoperative days. The dressing is changed daily by the operating physician personally. In the first days, mobilization is facilitated with pain therapy.

After about a week, the patient is able to climb stairs with forearm crutches. After 4 -6 weeks, the aids are removed and full load is allowed.

If everything goes well, you can return to work after about 12 weeks (including rehabilitation).

Weather sensitivity or insensitivity can last up to a year.

Round movements are always very good for the body. These sports include cycling, hiking, swimming, walking, light jogging, golf and for good hobby players tennis is allowed again.

In general, rather unsuitable sports, or we recommend at least a year to wait for ski – and cross-country skiing, and contact sports.
